In its third year, Battle of the Tech Bands returned to The Triffid in Newstead for another night of tech industry talent colliding with rock and roll. Five bands from Brisbane's growing tech scene took the stage, each bringing their own flavour. But now that the contest was maturing, each band was trying to outdo the others, with more elaborate costumes, backdrops and props. This was the first year that proceeds went to supporting Youngcare, a charity that supports young people with high support needs. The event was a huge success, cementing BOTTB's place as a beloved fixture in Brisbane's live music calendar. But the night belonged to the Fuggles from FoundU, who closed out the night with a completely unhinged performance inspired by the Wiggles from a parallel universe. With a full multimedia production, incredible costumes and musicianship, they edged out a very tough field to take their second gong as Battle of the Tech Band Champions.
